Khao mak ''Khao mak'' ((タイ語:ข้าวหมาก), ), also known as Thai Fermented Sweet Rice Dessert is an ancient Thai dessert for adults, as it has a touch of natural alcohol. ==Meaning== ''Khao mak'' is a Thai dessert that was made from white or black sticky rice. It was steamed and fermented with Thai mold bran (''luk paeng''). It takes 2 – 3 days to convert from starch into sugar and yeast is used to convert sugar into alcohol. ''Luk paeng'' is a source of mold and yeast that mixes some herbs when fermented with some steamed rice.
